St. Joseph Teachers' College relocated from NDG to Durocher Street in downtown Montreal to occupy the building of the former Catholic High School of Montreal.

The School for Teachers, the School of Physical Education and the Department of Education were amalgamated to form the McGill Institute of Education.

The McGill Institute of Education became the Faculty of Education and programs continued both at Macdonald College and McGill’s main campus.
