The Faculty of Education merged with the St. Joseph Teachers’ College and moved from Macdonald College to its current location on the McGill campus. The Faculty became the first teaching institution for both English Protestant and Catholic schoolteachers in Quebec.

The Faculty of Education was reorganized into four areas: the Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE); the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology (ECP); the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies (GSLIS); and the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education (KPE).
